Hi, I'm Dan DeBauche! I grew up in Door County, WI, about 10 miles north of Sturgeon Bay. For those of us that use our hand as a map, that would put me just above the knuckle of your thumb. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in May with degrees in Political Science and Anthropology, and have been running field operations for local races in the Twin Cities for about a year, and have worked in every capacity from volunteer to Field Director. I also spent some time as a director of the DNC's fundraising efforts in the Twin Cities this summer.
Since I first considered doing campaign work, I've long thought of working with Senator Feingold as my dream job, not only because he is my home Senator, but because I believe he embodies the best that politics and political candidates have to offer. To have this opportunity is a true honor and a privilege. Hope to see you at a victory party this November!
September 27, 2006 - Nevada Update
Since first arriving at the campaign HQ here in Las Vegas, it's been non-stop action. Our main focus has been to combat the mistruths and outright lies our opponent – a quintessential Bush administration yes-man – has been propagating in TV commercials and mailers alike. Still, no matter the tactics the other side uses, the message we get from voters is consistent and clear: people want change. And so we've been knocking on doors, making phone calls, and, yes, airing our own television ads, letting voters know that there is an alternative to the status quo of giveaways to big insurance, drug, and oil companies and the politics of fear and wedge issues. Everyday we find more volunteers inspired to become part of the fight to take back America, and everyday we find more people who want to become an effective part of a truly national movement for change. We have our own fight to win here in Southern Nevada, but it's obvious that we're also part of the growing Democratic majority of 2006 and beyond. |
