Hey everyone, my name is Sam Liebert. I feel a little under qualified, but I'll tell you all a little about me. My family is originally from the Green Bay area, I was born in Milwaukee and moved to Janesville, WI when I was 5. I'm currently 21 and a sophomore at University of Wisconsin - Rock County. I started a chapter for the College Democrats of America on campus, and have been working really hard to get younger people involved in the community to vote. I've had some experience with campaigns. I worked on the 2004 Kerry/Edwards campaign as a volunteer. I did everything from canvassing, phone banking....and yes even got the boss coffee when she needed it. I'm also highly interested in history and the middle east. I was actually in Israel this January and must say it's a beautiful country rich of history.
September 26, 2006 - Ohio Update
Well since I've hit the ground here in Columbus, OH it's been none stop action on behalf of the field staff here. The team is great, and has been together for a while - but they've accepted me warmly. I've been made Volunteer Coordinator for Franklin County, and it's quite the challenge! Meeting with local leaders, College Dems and making those calls! I've also been periodically running the phone banks at night, and canvassing with the volunteers. In my campaign experience so far I've had the chance to meet with the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Congressman Tim Ryan and Congressman Ted Strickland who is running for Governor (and 19 points ahead in the polls). So far I love Ohio, and I look forward to more challenges that surely await me.

September 20, 2006 - Sam at Family Fair
"Myself at a Family Fair where we did visabilty and recruited volunteers. Here is a monster from the children's book - 'Where the wild things are'. It was a favorite childhood book of mine, so I had to give him a hug." |
