Stacia Stanek

Stacia

from Onalaska, WI
assigned to Rich Olive for Iowa State Senate

I'm Stacia Stanek. I grew up on Onalaska, WI (right next to La Crosse, on the Mississippi river). I graduated from Onalaska High School in 2000 and went to college at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. I became interested in politics after I graduated in 2004 and I volunteered on Russ's reelection campaign here in La Crosse. I really respect him and find his integrity and leadership ability to be a model that all politicians should follow. I have a bachelor's degree in cultural anthropology and a minor in theatre from USC. I've also been taking french classes at UW-La Crosse in preparation for grad school. I'm hoping to attend Tufts in Boston for their International Relations program in Law and Diplomacy. Ideally, I will work for the United Nations some day.

Anyway, I'm totally excited about this opportunity to meet a ton of fun people and hopefully get to travel to somewhere new and interesting.

September 27, 2006 - Iowa Update

I'm having a wonderful time here in central Iowa. I could not be working for a better candidate. Rich and Marian Olive are such enthusiastic, hard working people that it keeps the rest of the staff motivated. I am the volunteer coordinator on Rich's state senate campaign. Whenever Rich meets people, he wins them over, so we're doing everything we can to get him throughout the district. His calendar is quite full, but he keeps telling us to add more. It is an honor to work for someone so dedicated. It's so much fun to hear about the progressive work being done throughout the country. I too hope to celebrate a victory with you all in November!
